PROTECTING YOUR FUTURE SMILE

Wisdom teeth often emerge in a way that can disrupt the harmony of your smile. Whether they are impacted or simply lack the space to grow, leaving them unaddressed can lead to crowding, discomfort, or future dental complications.

At Downriver Surgery Center, we take a proactive approach. By removing wisdom teeth with precision and care, we don't just solve a current problem—we safeguard your oral health for years to come. Our goal is to ensure your jaw remains healthy and your smile stays exactly where it belongs.

FAQ

  • No. Dr. Alec uses general anesthesia to ensure you are in a deep, peaceful sleep. Most patients remember nothing of the procedure itself and wake up feeling like they’ve just had a very refreshing nap.

  • While every case is unique, the actual extraction typically takes about 45 minutes. You should plan to be with us for about 90 minutes total to allow plenty of time for check-in and your gentle recovery in the same room.

  • We generally recommend removal in the mid-to-late teens or early twenties, as the roots haven't fully formed and recovery is much faster. However, we successfully treat patients of all ages with the same gentle care.

  • For the first few days, you'll want to stick to soft, cool foods like smoothies, yogurt, and mashed potatoes.

  • Yes. Because we prioritize your safety and use general anesthesia, you must have a friend or family member stay at the office during your visit and drive you home afterward.

  • Dr. Alec personally calls each of his patients on the evening of their procedure to check in, answer any late-night questions, and ensure you are resting comfortably. It’s our way of making sure you feel supported and cared for from the moment you leave our office until you are fully recovered.
