THE ROAD TO RELIEF

Healing from an extraction is surprisingly quick when you have the right roadmap. Most of our patients find that any tenderness fades within just a couple of days, allowing them to get back to their favorite foods and daily routines sooner than they expected. We focus on 'clot protection' and gentle hygiene to ensure your jaw heals cleanly and comfortably from the inside out.

FAQ

  • While you might feel some mild pressure or tenderness for a day or two, most patients find it very easy to manage with simple over-the-counter options. We provide a custom care kit to ensure your healing is as painless as possible.

  • The extraction itself is often very fast, usually taking less than 45 minutes. You should plan to be with us for about an hour and a half total to ensure we have plenty of time for your consultation and a gentle recovery.

  • In many cases, yes! Dr. Alec can often place a dental implant or a 'bridge' foundation at the same time as the extraction. We’ll discuss all your options during your visit so you can plan for your future smile.

  • A dry socket happens if the healing clot is dislodged too early. To prevent this, simply avoid using straws, smoking, or vigorous spitting for the first few days. We’ll provide you with a detailed 'Do's and Don'ts' list to ensure your healing stays on track.

  • Dr. Alec personally calls every patient on the evening of their extraction. He wants to ensure you are resting comfortably and that you have everything you need for a smooth and easy recovery."
